Barry and his wife have a very wide backyard and they really wanted to have a deck design with a free flow from the kitchen to the backyard so they can utilize the deck for more entertaining, barbeque and family dinners.
We showed the couple several of our previous deck design work in Toronto and they settled on a two level deck and custom wrought iron railings to one side which left the deck open to the backyard.
We started the work on this deck by demolishing and disposal of the old deck before starting with the deck building process and because the couple chose to use the Eco Prem decking material which is a pretty expensive heat treated wood, we had to carefully design and build the deck so there was hardly any leftover or scrap.
For the construction o the deck we used a patented hidden fastener decking system so that there are no nails or screws showing for a sleek deck design look.
One other things we did was the built in deck lights in the stairs. These lights turn on at night time and are ideal for ambiance and enjoying summer nights in your backyard.
For the deck railing we used 3.5” posts and handrails made of Eco Prem material and a custom design wrought iron railings.
At the end of the deck construction project the home owners were so pleased that they asked us to build an interesting focal point for their backyard so we ended up designing a pergola, a 5 post pergola from the same Eco perm material.
We really enjoyed this project and so did Barry and his wife.
