Ryan called us because he wanted to completely gut out his old deck and build him a new deck instead.
The demolition of the deck was a bit complex but within half a day we already had the site clear and ready for the new deck.
We put in some new foundations, 4' deep posts with 4"x4" pressure treated posts and 6"x6" supporting posts to eliminate future sagging of the deck. All of the foundations were made off pressure treated material.
The next day we started the face of the deck and this one was a beauty, Ryan decided he wanted to go with a cedar deck and so we built his deck with selected tight knot western red cedar, best red cedar in the market at great prices. the face of the deck was made of tree sections with a special custom design that Ryan and his wife chose.
Ryan and his wife also decided to do a custom deck railing from cedar and western red cedar. the way we build the deck railings is we cut and pre-drill the cedar in the 6,000 square foot shop of ours and then all our installers have to do is put them together on site.
We find it to be faster and much more reliable way of creating cedar deck railings for our Toronto customers. All in all we did 78 linear ft. of custom cedar deck railings.
Next thing we did was build deck stair case, the beauty of this staircase was the way we integrated it into the existing stone stair case leading to the pool. Needless to say, the staircase was made with western red cedar too.
Around the deck we created a custom cedar tongue and groove skirt to complete the look.
Did I mention we did a second deck as well at the same site?
This deck was a bit smaller and it was a sort of balcony going out of the dining room about 7' off the ground using the same details of the bigger deck.
It was a great week but our Toronto deck contractors made it all in one week. great team effort and great results with happy customers.
