Sandro supplied us with a certain drawing of his ideal gate design and wanted us to replicate it and build it from western red cedar but he also wanted a very clean look and for us not to use any screws or nails with this gate.We love challenges and we know how to make our customers happy so we took the drawings and went to our 6,000 sf shop and as he wanted, we built his gate fro western red cedar and glue. Not even a single nail or screw was used for this gate whatsoever.
We made the framing to the gate from 2″x6″ cedar and the inserts were made from clear tongue and groove western red cedar.
Then we had to tackle the canopy for the gate so we made that from pressure treated wood to match the existing fence design on the property.
The gate canopy was made on site on the same day we installed the gate.
Did I mention that we applied 3 coats of beautiful high quality Benjamin Moore stain and that the hardware and fasteners were all custom made and stainless steel? Also with self closing hinges because they had a pool in their backyard and we had to adhere to the Toronto pool bylaw.
The knob was 59″ above ground and with a key from the outside, just a great design and even better some great work from our deck, fence and gate carpenters.
No outdoor work is small for us. we welcome the challenge and always strive to make a happy customer.
